E.ON IBU World Cup Biathlon

About 30 specialists – referees, staff of the biathlon center, trainers and experts – from Khanty-Mansiysk autonomous okrug went to Sochi for the test competitionson call of the Russian Biathlon Union. Representatives of the International Biathlon Union, who were present at the competitions, highly estimatedthe level of readiness of Sochi Biathlon Centre for the Olympiad-2014.

As explained by the Deputy Director of autonomous establishment “UgraMegaSport” Spartak Antonenkov, who was taking part in the working meetings of the Organizing Committee of Sochi-2014, observers noticed complexity of the Biathlon center courses – they abound with turns and climbs. Also he mentioned that representatives of leading national biathlon federations study the peculiarities of these courses and prepare their athletes for the hot contest. At the moment the Biathlon Centre in Sochi is at the stage of construction. The courses work in the Olympic mode.

Additionally during the working meetings in the capital of Games-2014 there was discussed preparation for the coming World Cup Biathlon Final in Ugra. Representatives of Organizing Committee of Khanty-Mansiysk reported about the work done and agreed upon future plans.The planned amount of involved referees, the procedure of their accommodation and some other technical questionswere discussed. It has been known that on the 13th of February submission of applications for participation from national biathlon federationswill be finished. According to the submitted applications the organization of transport service, amendment in the accommodation of participants and other activities will be continued.
