E.ON IBU World Cup Biathlon

RBU Vice-President VadimMelikhov, the Deputy Executive Director Alexander Pak and Competition Chief Vladimir Bragin made a working visit to Khanty-Mansiysk on the 17th of January.

The main topic was the preparation for World Cup Biathlon Final which will take place in Ugra from the 13th till the 18th of March. Less than two months are left till the start of the international competitions. The preparation for the event is proceeding according to the schedule which was confirmed by the inspectors.

“The Executive Directorate is making th preparations in all the areas: the official Opening and Closing ceremonies have been planned, the staff and the volunteers group are being completed, the applications for accreditation from media representatives are being gathered,” – declared the Competition Chief Vladimir Bragin.

One of the main events of this season became the finish of the reconstruction of the Winter Sports Center named after Alexander Filipenko. The Executive Directorate of the Organizing Committee informed that “the courses are covered with the new asphalt, the technical offices were repaired, the newest audio system was installed”.

During their visit the representatives of Russian Biathlon Union examined the courses, made the corrections in the plan of the referees cabins and finish area. Special attention was paid to the questions of the organization of the broadcasting process, positions of the TV cameras on the stadium and along the courses, and the logistical questions.
