E.ON IBU World Cup Biathlon

More than 400 artists of different art forms under the guidance of world-class professionals will take part in the grand pageant opening ceremony of the World CupBiathlon Final.

According to Alexander Evdokimov,the production director, a member of the Moscow Playwright Union, winner of the All-Russian Professional Union of Theatre Workers Award “Facets of the theater of the masses”, there will beperformed a festive overture, a parade of the participating countries, Suite “Sport – spectacle – art” as well as an allegorical sketch of the grueling Marathon race of the biathletes from start – to finish. This theatrical show will tell to all biathlon fans about the history of the sport and its features.

– There will be a special attitude and careful attention to the final stage of the competition – said Alexander Evdokimov, the scriptwriter of the Opening Ceremony “Steps to the pedestal “. – We want to convey all the intensity of competition and the magnitude of the current event. Symbolic raising of the IBU Flag on the background of the Russian Federation Flag (a sign of our hospitality) will become the highlight of the Opening Ceremony. For the first time ever the Opening Ceremony will be held indoors, but nevertheless, everybody will feel the outdoors atmosphere due to special effect of the fluttering flags.

The scale of the planned event allows us to judge weighty and complex process of the equipmentinstalling and organization of the process. At this point all creative teams are selected and the preparations are still going on.In a short time, artists from different cities of the Autonomous Okrug will gather for the general rehearsal.

We would like to remind you that the Opening Ceremony will take place in the Cultural and Entertainment Complex “Arena-Ugra” on March,14 at 20:30. In contrast to the last year there will be free entrance. Everybody can get a free ticket at the box offices of the city (tel. 007-3467-36-12-34)

In addition, an interesting entertainment program will be organized in front of the standsone hour before each race of the World Cup Biathlon Final.
