Exposition Project “CINEMAMANIA”

February 24, 2012 the exposition project “CINEMAMANIA” opened in the halls of the State Art Museum as a part of the X International Debut Film Festival “Spirit of Fire”
For many years in the history of culturological practice visual arts and cinema were closely interwoven with each other and interacted with each other. Many artists of the twentieth century embodied their projects not only with the help of previously known artistic expression means, but using cinematography as well, transferring genres of plastic arts in cinema or using specific cinema tools as a painter’s brush for the media drawings.
The exposition project is display space of the museum, filled with the theme “Film as Art” and expressed in a number of exhibitions united by this common theme.
State Art Museum in partnership with the Museum “Moscow House of Photography” offers a photo exhibition by Juozas Budraitis, an actor and a diplomat that in addition to his main occupation is professionally engaged in photography since the late 1960s. His Solo exhibitions were held in Moscow, Vilnius, Kaliningrad, Nizhny Novgorod, St. Petersburg, Murmansk.
The visitors will see the exposition of paintings, drawings, sculptures, photographs, video installations and art objects of the masters of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug – Ugra and Russia. These works come from the museums and private collections and are created by young artists and recognized masters, such as G.S. Rayshev. In lives of these artists the cinema has always occupied a special place.
In addition to the artistic part of the exhibition, the visitor will find himself at the filming site, installed in the halls of the museum. Visitors will also be able to familiarize themselves with artifacts that are just indispensable for any filming process.
The exhibition is open until the 1st of April, 2012.
