“Archaeopark”
The Cultural and Tourist Complex “Archaeopark” is a structural unit of the Human and Nature museum from August 2008. The conception of the “Archaeopark” is based on the idea to create an original museum of the extinct animals, which will become a natural addition to the stationary exposition of the Human and Nature museum.
The complex of sculptures reconstructing big West Siberian mammals of the Ice Age was located on the artificially created ground of the Samarovskaya mount. The architectural decision made the park available to the visitors and gave a possibility to enjoy the statuary from the by-pass road and from the walking areas. The idea to created three terraces located on different tiers was predestined by the local relief. There was a branch of the Irtysh River at the foot of the mount in the past.
Today we can definitely say that the cultural and tourist complex has a great recreational, ecological, educational, historical and cultural meaning. It is a big natural and territorial complex, which has a special ecological, environmental, scientific and esthetic value.
